Carleton R. Potter

Carleton Potter 78 of Wakefield passed away peacefully on February 8, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Potter for 51 years. He was the son of the late Joseph Potter and Avis (Smith) Potter. Carl served in the US Army and was a police officer #314 with the Town of Narragansett for 27 years. After retiring he worked as a groundskeeper for St. Marys Star of the Sea. He always had a story to tell and a joke to make you laugh. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his lifelong friend Ray Garlick and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He is survived by his 3 children Julie Chapman and her husband Christopher, Colleen Potter and Andrew Potter. Devoted grandfather of Zachary Northup and Mia Chapman. Brother of the late Robert Potter. Husband, Chief to his grandson, Grampy to his granddaughter, friend to all. "14"will be missed immeasurably. With respect to his wishes, calling hours are omitted and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South County Health Cancer Center.
