Carl Sompi

Carl Sompi, 92, of Peace Dale House, died Friday at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Rita T. (LaBrecque) Sompi and the late Myrtle (Noyes) Sompi. Born in Fayette City, PA, he was the son of the late Gust and Mary (Poro) Sompi. Mr. Sompi was a machinist for Davis-Standard in Pawcatuck, CT for over thirty years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of W.W. II serving in Agra, India. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Donna J. Zapatka of Houston, TX; step-sons, Kenneth Chapman of Westerly and Gary Chapman of Wakefield; step-daughters, Gerianne Chapman of Wakefield and Robin Taylor of Norwich, CT; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
