Carey Lankford

October 27, 1942 — September 23, 2019

Carey Lankford, 76, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on September 23rd. He is survived by Sharon, his wife of 51 years, and their children Kristin Koch (Robert, children Ryan and Ashley), David (Daisey, children Sara and Evan) and dog Winston. His time was most treasured when spent with family, especially being Pop to his grandkids. He enjoyed his breakfast buddies, exploring his family tree, and tinkering with projects around his home. In the days since his passing, the overwhelming sentiment from his friends and community is the appreciation of his caring and generous nature. Carey retired in 1996 after 30 years of service at the Fram Corporation serving as Vice President of sales. After retirement he volunteered his time and served on the board with the Mt. Washington Valley chapter for Habitat For Humanity. Since moving to Wakefield to be closer to family he served as Executive Board Treasurer on the condominium board and Chairman of the Finance Committee at his church. An informal open house reception to honor Carey will be held at Peace Dale Congregational Church in Peace Dale, RI on Saturday, September 28th between 2 and 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Jonnycake Center food pantry in Peace Dale (jonnycakecenter.org) or the Peace Dale Congregational Church.
