Calvin E. Bamford, 89, of South Kingstown, died peacefully on Sunday, June 29th, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Mary Pat (Kehoe) Bamford for 57 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mabel (Schultz) Bamford. A graduate of La Salle Academy (’42), Brown University ('48) and a Naval Veteran of WW II, he went to work with the Aluminum Company of America headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA for over 40 years, retiring as an executive, before moving to RI to be close to family and friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Mark and Kerri Bamford, Paul and Mary Bamford, and Joseph and Lynn Bamford; a daughter, Kathleen M. Bamford; and six grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. The youngest of eight, he was the brother of the late Wilson Bamford, Sister Joseph Maureen O.P., Douglas Bamford, Kenneth Bamford, Mabel Hopkins, Evelyn Bamford, and Donald Bamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
