Bruce W. Montey, Sr.

Bruce W. Montey Sr., 59, of Mashantucket, CT, died Saturday. He was the husband of Juanita (Reels) Montey. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Courtland C. Stanton Jr. and Pauline (Hazard) Montey. Bruce worked as the Athletic Commissioner for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Bruce W. Montey Jr. of Mashantucket, CT; daughters, Marie Junice Young of Providence, Cristina Gray of Ledyard, CT and Heather Montey of Norwich, CT; brothers, James Montey of New Haven, CT, Jonathan Montey of Norwich, CT, Courtland C. Stanton III of Mystic, CT and Kevin Stanton of Charlestown; sisters, Caroline Pyle of Anderson, IN, Linda Montey of Camp Springs, MD, Beverly Brooks of Westerly, Cynthia Sampson of Westerly, Lorraine Keyes of West Warwick and Debbie Stanton of Narragansett and twelve grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
