Bruce Erickson, 82, of Narragansett, RI, passed away on March 6, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, to John and Doris Erickson, Bruce attended Pawtucket West High School before going on to study at Dean Junior College and the University of Rhode Island, eventually earning his MBA from Bryant University. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox from 1965-1967.
While working part-time at First National grocery store in Wakefield during college, Bruce met the love of his life, Leslie. They were married in 1967 by her father, the late Rev. Forest Parsons, and spent 57 wonderful years together.
Bruce spent 25 years as a Vice President and Systems Analyst at Fleet Bank. After retiring, he took on one of his favorite roles—driving a school bus, where he had the special privilege of transporting his three grandchildren every day.
Bruce leaves behind his wife, Leslie; his children, Jon Erickson (Kristin Almeida) and Rebecca Erickson Paquette (JB Paquette); his brother, Robert Erickson (Priscilla Erickson); his niece, Karin Erickson; and his three granddaughters, Madeline, Ruby, and Eden Paquette, whom he adored. He was predeceased by his nephew, Robert Erickson. He also leaves behind many beloved relatives and friends.
Bruce was a devoted family man who will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and love of life. He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing his beautiful lawn, boating, running, traveling, and spending time in the sunshine and beach. Every year until this past April, Bruce and Leslie camped in a tent for a month in one of their favorite places, Sanibel Island in Florida. His home was his sanctuary, and nothing brought him more joy than sharing it with the people he loved.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15th in Wakefield Baptist Church, where Bruce was an active member, at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held in Avery Storti Funeral Home in Wakefield, RI on Friday, March 14th from 4 pm- 6 pm.
In remembrance of Bruce, the family asks that you hug your loved ones and embrace life with the same warmth and optimism that Bruce carried with him every day.
