We are sad to announce that on May 4, 2022, at the age of 53, Brian P. Stanley of Carolina, RI, passed away peacefully at South County Hospital with his wife, Karrie, by his side. He was born on November 1, 1968, in Providence, RI to Wayne Stanley and the late Joan (Munkittrick) Stanley. He was the beloved husband of Karrie (Chiaradio) Stanley and the devoted father of their two children, Matthew Stanley and Lauren Stanley. He graduated from Chariho High School in 1986 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Bryant College (University) in 1990. He worked as the Assistant Director of Finance and Administration at Chariho Regional School District from 1996-1999, when he advanced to the position of Director of Finance and Administration. He retired from that position in June of 2016. In 2016, he received a double lung transplant at Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio. Later in 2020, he received a liver and kidney transplant at the same hospital. He was a tireless advocate for organ donation and transplantation. He befriended and guided many prospective transplant patients with his unique and courageous journey and optimistic perspective. Brian loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed Christian fellowship with his church family. He loved fishing, golf, pickleball, the beach and boating. He was an endless practical joker, who spent much of his free time outwitting his family and friends. He is fondly remembered for his Donald Duck impressions, that he used to entertain the kids. He loved going to his children’s sporting events and school functions. He also loved all his pets, especially his cat, Cooper, who was his regular lap warmer. Brian was predeceased by his mother, Joan Stanley. He is survived by his wife Karrie Stanley, their son Matthew and daughter Lauren. His father Wayne Stanley and his wife Barbara, his brother Gary Stanley and his children and grandchildren, and his sister Deborah Nigrelli and her children. He is also survived by his loving pets, Franklin, Ollie, Oreo, Cooper, Sheldon, Chloe, and Max who now frequent his recliner in his place. There will be a celebration of life in his honor on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 2:00 at Second Baptist Church in North Stonington. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Brian Stanley to Cleveland Clinic in support of the Breath of Life Fund in the Respiratory Institute.
