Brian L. "Tim" Gustaitis

January 25, 1956 — May 17, 2025

Brian Leo “Tim” Gustaitis, 69 of South Kingstown, RI passed away on Saturday, May 17th surrounded by his family. Born in Roxbury, Massachusetts to the late Leopoldo and Chiqueta Gustaitis. He was the devoted husband of Susan (Kardel) Gustaitis for 40 years.


Tim was a proud veteran having served in the US Army from 1973-1977 and the US Air Force from 1982-1992. He was the Grand Marshall for the 2013 South Kingstown Veteran’s Day Parade. After his military service, he worked at American Power Conversion in West Kingstown and then General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown where he retired in 2019.


He loved supporting his children in their activities serving as a Cub Scout leader, Little League coach, Softball coach and umpire. He also enjoyed family camping trips, bowling and playing golf. He loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings, University of Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Tigers.


He is survived by his wife, Susan, his sons Jeronimo of Winchester, VA, Matthew (Fallon) of Warwick, RI, his daughter Briana (Zion) of Cranston, RI and his stepson Jason (Danielle) of Wood River Junction, RI. He was the beloved grandfather to Damien, Sarah, Jason, Erika, Brenna, Baer, Hudson, Miamarie, Jasper and unborn granddaughter Micah. He is also survived by his siblings, Leo (Paula) Gustaitis of Lewisville, NC, Steven (Lynn) Gustaitis of Roanoke, VA, Barbara Gustaitis of Brunswick, MD and Joseph (Elizabeth) Gustaitis of Yadkinville, NC and many nieces and nephews.


Tims funeral will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM.

Although we are heartbroken, we are grateful for his unconditional love and we will cherish his memory forever.
