Bradford P. Cottman, 62, of 103A Robinson Street, Wakefield, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Born in Providence on September 28, 1949, he was the son of the late Llewellyn and Virginia (Place) Cottman. Brad retired from General Dynamics in Groton, CT, following a long career as a toolmaker. Despite a lifelong affliction with asthma, Brad enjoyed Hi-Li, softball, fishing and bowling. For many years, he was the highest scoring bowler at Old Mountain Lanes. Brad was kind and generous, made friends easily, and had the unique ability to always see the positive in any situation. Brad is survived by his loving, devoted family consisting of two sons, Brad, Jr. and his wife Rachel, and their two children, Bridget and Brenzen of Westerly; Brenton and his wife Jennifer and their two children, Madeleine and Miles of New Zealand; a sister E. Brooke Prendergast of Narragansett; a niece and nephew; the mother of his sons, Linda Wilkinson of Charlestown; and his lifelong friend, love, companion and caregiver, Judith Smith of Wakefield. His family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to both Dr. Darius Kostrzewa and Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, for their compassion and assistance.
