Beverly (GRIFFITH) Lockhart, 75, of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of South Kingstown, died Wednesday at home in Palm Harbor. She was the beloved wife of George N. Lockhart for thirty seven years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Alice (Beckett) Griffith. Mrs. Lockhart was a 1952 graduate of East Providence High School and received her RN degree in 1955 from Milford Hospital School of Nursing. During the Polio epidemic she worked at Charles V. Chapin Hospital from 1955 to 1956. In 1957 she joined the US Air Force Nurse Corps and was stationed and received basic training at Gunter Air Force Base, Montgomery, AL. She was also stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base, Amarillo, TX and MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital, Kent County Hospital, South County Hospital, State of RI MHRH, Ladd School and retired from nursing in 1979. After retiring from nursing she became co-owner with her husband of Super Squirrel Fisheries Inc and did deep sea fishing and whale watching. She spent the winters deep sea fishing, whale watching and bird watching in Tarpon Springs, FL and retired to Palm Harbor, FL. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter Kathleen and her husband Anthony Balbi of Wakefield; grandchildren David and Heather Balbi. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial will be in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
