Beverly Kasperovich

Beverly Kasperovich, 83, of Charlestown RI and Dania Beach, FL, formerly of Reading, MA, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on Friday May 29, 2015 in the presence of her four children. She was born on August 22, 1931, the eldest daughter of Fred T. and Pearl (Hulburd) Hecker, and sister of the late Patricia Specht. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Ralph R. Kasperovich, who passed away in 2006. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Kasperovich and wife Sandy of Sewickley, PA, and Mark Kasperovich of Dania Beach FL; her daughters Nancy O'Keefe and husband Jim of Charlestown, RI and Susan Terwilliger of Marietta GA. She was the beloved grandmother to five grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, and Kelly O'Keefe, and Olivia and Claire Terwilliger. She is also survived by her niece Lou Thomas, and nephews Rick and Jim Specht; all of Texas. Beverly attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. She enjoyed a variety of work and volunteer experiences. Before her marriage, she worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C. as a stenographer. She was an active member of the church choir at both Our Lady of Angels parish in Woodbridge, VA and St. Athanasius parish in Reading, MA. She tutored with Each One Teach One, a program that teaches elderly people how to read, was a member of both the Citizen Observer Patrol program in FL and the Columbiettes (women auxiliaries of the Knights of Columbus) at Little Flower Church in Hollywood, FL. In Rhode Island, she was a parishioner of St. Mary's/St. James parish. She was an avid bridge player and golfer. She loved to take walks every day, and she always smiled as she greeted everyone she met. She also enjoyed TCM movies, solving crossword puzzles daily, and attending the opera, symphony, and live theatre performances. Above all, she loved spending time with her family including her children and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Road, Charlestown, RI 02813. A visitation hour will be held prior to the funeral mass at St. James. Burial will be at the Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, NH at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Donations may be made in Beverly's memory to a charity of one's choice.
