Beverly Eileen (Treuer) Hunt passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 2, 2023 at the age of 93. She was the beloved and cherished wife of 69 years to her late husband Harry L. Hunt. She was the daughter of the late Charles P. Treuer and Florence C. Boldt.
Beverly was born in South Kingstown, RI on November 11, 1929 and remained a lifelong resident. After graduation from South Kingstown High School, she became a hair stylist by trade, yet her greatest loves were her husband and family. She held several positions after raising her children, working at Benny’s in Wakefield, as a Hostess at The Seagull Restaurant and managing the Harbor House in Watch Hill. She volunteered for the Johnnycake Center and was a former member of The South County Women’s Group. She enjoyed softball in high school and was in several bowling leagues as a young married mother. She could always be found reading the newspaper, books and her kindle, hooking rugs, trips to Foxwoods, travel, cruises and attending family events.
Beverly touched many lives, and will be most remembered for her great generosity of spirit and love for others. She embodied strength and independence. She was a social butterfly, stopping to chat with everyone. She was quick-witted, funny, and the “life of the party”. She loved to cook and was known for her “quahog chowda”.
During Beverly’s final days, she was surrounded by friends and loved ones. Her days were spent with fun, food, laughter, and reminiscing about what a wonderful life she had lived. We will forever have such beautiful memories of her.
She leaves behind her daughters, Kathleen Sue Hunt of Gainesville, FL, Eileen Sue Hunt of Charlestown, and Maureen Sue Neira of Coventry, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her sister Dianne Souza and (Donald) of RI and Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Charlie Pete Treuer and her sister Barbara C. Drake.
The family would like to offer a special heartfelt thank you to HopeHealth Hospice, Joni, Heather, Wendy, Kathy, Mary, Barbara, April and so many others who supported Beverly during her final days.
