Beverly Blackhurst Deroche

Beverly Blackhurst DeRoche transitioned into heaven on July 14, 2014. She was born to Harry and Kathleen Blackhurst in Medford MA on October 20, 1927. She was a real estate broker at the Boyer Agency and raised her family in East Lyme CT. She had extended vacations for two years in FL, five years in CA, and traveled extensively, seeing Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, before returning to RI where she enjoyed the remainder of her life. Beverly had a wonderful sense of humor, and encouraged her children to live life to the fullest. One of her greatest joys was entertaining people, young and old, as Mrs. Clause during the holiday season. Beverly is now reunited with her son Edward J. DeRoche Jr. who preceded her in 1984. Beverly is survived by her daughters, Joan L. DeRoche of NY, Diane DeRoche Parker, of CA, Barbara DeRoche Swanson and husband Eric, of Narragansett, Alice DeRoche Painter and husband David, of MA. Beverly was also blessed with seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Center who treated her as family for the last five years as they took wonderful care of her due to Alzheimer's. She was loved my many and will be terribly missed. We are thankful for her love. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated for Beverly at St. Francis of Assisi, 114 High Street, Wakefield at 10am Thursday, and interment at East Lyme Cemetery, where she will rest with her son.
