Beulah B. Dumas

Beulah (Bell) Dumas, 88, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehab Clipper. She was the beloved wife of Robert A. Dumas for 65 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Adelbert and Edith (Barker) Bell, growing up in Central Falls and Pawtucket. Beulah worked as a shipping clerk for 30 years at Red Farm Studios, Pawtucket. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. A parishioner of St. Paul’s Church, Pawtucket, she served for many years on the Women’s Guild, Altar Guild and as a Sunday school teacher. Beulah was an avid reader and knitter who also enjoyed traveling. She and her late brother-in-law, Henry J. Dumas, were avid NFL fans and were known to enjoy friendly bets on the Sunday games. Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Robert Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Severn, Maryland, Russell and his wife Susan, of Hull, Massachusetts, Beverly Bryant and her husband Andrew of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Betsy Olbrych of Charlestown, Rhode Island. Loving grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 10. She also leaves two sisters Barbara Brockwell of Naugatuck, CT, R. Joyce Feld of Pawtucket, and one brother, Howard Bell, Valdosta, GA . Loving Godmother to Susan Findesen of Pawtucket and Barbara Jean O’Sullivan, of Naugatuck, CT. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings Adelbert Bell, Jr., Cora Jodat, Edith Porter, Velma Adams, Donald Bell, Robert Bell and Joan Flinkfelt. Calling hours are Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. Funeral Service with Eucharist will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Church of the Ascension, 370 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. Burial will be at the RI Veteran’s Cemetery. Donations can be made in Beulah’s memory to the Episcopal Conference Center, 872 Reservoir Road, Pascoag, RI 02859 or to the VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886.
