Barry A. Wood

Barry Wood, 78, of Narragansett passed away on May 6,2024 surrounded by his loving family, including his wife, Patricia (Vayo) Wood, of 58 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Newell and Dorothy (Borden) Wood.

Barry was a Vietnam war veteran who received a bronze star for heroism, as he was a combat medic. He retired from the Narragansett school department after 40 years of service.

Besides his wife, he leaves behind his children, Barry Wood Jr and Lorrie Wood. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittney, Brea, and Sean. As well as his great grandchildren, Olivia, Farrah, Arina, Kai, and Mia.

He is preceded in death by his son Craig “Woody” Wood.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1 to 3 pm in Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 pm in Avery Storti Funeral Home. Military Honors will take place at 1:30 PM.
