Barbara L. Wilson, 89, of Kingston, died suddenly Saturday, January 10, 2009. Born in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Temple Wilson. She was a graduate of Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene and received her master of Science Degree form Boston University. Miss Wilson was a Professor of Dental Hygiene and Chairperson of the Dental Hygiene Department at the University of Rhode Island for nearly thirty years. Throughout her tenure at URI she served on myriad University committees. She was an active member of the Dental Hygiene Association, both locally and nationally. Professionally, she was a member of the Rhode Island Board of Dental Examiners for many years, served on national dental hygiene committees and was a consultant for the Regional Office of Head Start. In retirement, she served on the Board at Thundermist Health Center of South County and volunteered at nursing homes throughout the state. She leaves many dear friends who will miss her companionship and counsel. Memorial donations may be made to the Barbara L.
