Barbara B. Weibel

Barbara B. Weibel, 88, of Wakefield, died Tuesday. She was the beloved wife of the late J. Harvey Weibel. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Curtis) Browning. Mrs. Weibel was an active member of the Women’s Club and the Jr. Women’s Club of South County, and she was a longtime member of the Pt. Judith Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and playing golf. She is survived by three children, Jay Weibel of Newport, Lynthia Cook of Wakefield, and Kathleen Gaisser of Ridgefield, CT; eight grandchildren, Evan (Emily) Weibel of Mansfield, MA, Christopher Weibel of New York City, Brooke (Chris) Pinault of Boston, MA, Kristen Cook, Kyle Cook, and Nicole Cook, all of Wakefield, Natalie Gaisser and Julie Gaisser, both of Ridgefield, CT; and two great grandchildren, Jayden and Lydia. She was the sister of the late Kay Hearn and Lynthia Tormey. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday, 5-7 pm, followed by a funeral service at 7 pm. Burial will be private in New Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South County Hospital, 100 Kenyon Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879.
