Barbara J. Rockwell, 98, of West Kingston, passed away on Monday, October 5th, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late James A. Rockwell. Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Knowles) Dumellow.

Barbara worked as an attendant at the former Ladd School in Exeter for many years before retiring.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Tefft, her grandchildren, Amanda Palmer and her husband Lee and their daughter Aria, Kenneth Tefft, Jr. and his daughters Annabell, Brianna and Chelsea, Jacob Tefft and his wife Madison and their daughters Emma and Hannah, Joseph Rockwell, great grandchildren Jacob Rockwell, Holly Griffith, Debra and Wayde Rockwell, and daughter in law Sharron Rockwell and her son Eric. She was the mother of the late James Rockwell, Jr., Robert Rockwell and Denise Rockwell and grandmother to the late James Rockwell, III.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 from 10 to 11:30 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. A graveside service will follow in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Exeter.
