Barbara Clark Peckham, 94, passed away surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her West Kingston home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Born on March 25, 1926 in Westerly and raised alongside her ten brothers and sisters in Ashaway, Barbara was the daughter of the late Arthur Clark and Ella (Gardiner) Clark. She was the always patient wife of the late Walter Charles Peckham. Along with being a truly wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara worked in dining services for the University of Rhode Island and The Ladd School for over ten years before retiring and continuing to care for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her adoring family, cooking, baking, quilt making, and reading. Gram, as so many called her, always took the opportunity to gift those around her with labors of love that will be cherished endlessly, whether that be a handmade quilt or stuffed animal, or a recipe. Her loved ones describe her as patient, kind, sweet and generous, shining as a beacon of light in all their lives. Her warmth and strength will live on in all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Barbara is survived by her beloved children Walter Clark Peckham and his wife Sheila, James Lee Peckham and his wife Jean, David Reuben Peckham and his partner Janis, Barbara Frances Hendrick and her partner Alan and Charles Barrie Peckham and his wife Karen; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Barbara was also the grandmother of the late Brian John Peckham. She leaves behind her sisters Linda Chiaradio and Eva Sisco, and her brother Roger Clark. A graveside service will be held at Friends Cemetery (also known as Usquepaug Cemetery), 443 Kingstown Road, Richmond, RI on Friday, October 9th, 2020 at 11 o’clock in the morning.
