Barbara Miller

On December 8th, 2023 Barbara L. Miller, 71 of Wakefield, RI. passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born in South Kingstown on February 18th, 1952 to the late Loretta (Kelly) and Gilbert Hartley.

Barbara grew up in North Kingstown, attending North Kingstown High School before becoming a CNA at South County Rehabilitation (now Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) where she would end up working for over twenty years before her retirement. Known for her nurturing personality, Barbara was adored by both those she cared for at work and the many family members she cared for and helped raise. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family and would do anything for them. Anyone who knew her knew her as a stubborn, but very loving mother, sister, wife, auntie, cousin, and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Miller, son, Ryan Miller, sisters, Deborah Castillas and Donna Hartley Caddick, and brother Thomas Hartley as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, William Hartley her sister, Shirley Hartley Pronteau, and her step-father, Everett Lucas.
