Barbara Ann Mcelroy

Barbara A. McElroy, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini in North Kingstown. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. McElroy. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Hall) Haven.

Barbara worked as a secretary for the Providence School Department for many years before retiring. She sang in the choir at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. Barbara enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her two children, Barbara McElroy and Thomas McElroy, three grandchildren, Ryan McElroy, Katelyn McElroy and Isabella Rose McElroy, a sister Eileen Christensen and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Carole Bourke and Joseph Haven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26 from 4 to 7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
