Barbara A. Keaney

Barbara A. Keaney, 61, of Wakefield, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at South County Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Biddeford, ME, she was the daughter of Margaret F. (Judge) Keaney of Wakefield and the late Warner M. Keaney. Barbara was a graduate of South Kingstown High School and earned her Elementary Education Degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1975. She was employed at South County Hospital for 44 years in many capacities before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling and cooking. Barbara had also been president of Village at Worden’s Pond Homeowners Association and also the Village Women’s Club. Besides her mother she is also survived by her brother James W. Keaney and his wife Ellenann of Narragansett; her aunt, Mary Lou Manning and her husband Richard; her uncle, Peter Judge and his wife Janet in Biddeford, ME and several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 4-7 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
