Barbara A Burbank

Barbara A. Burbank, 79, of Hope Valley, passed away on Thursday, April 14th, 2022. Born in Pawtucke,t RI, she was the daughter of the late Waldo H. and Margaret A. (Wright) Burbank. Barbara dedicated her life to children. She was a kindergarten teacher at Stony Lane Elementary School for 32 years before retiring. After retirement she spent many years as a substitute teacher for South Kingstown School District and the after school program for the YMCA. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Narragansett, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her long-term caregivers, nephew, Kenneth Jones and his wife, Hollie; their Children Kenneth Jr. and Fiancé Brittnie, Richard and Shelby, Great Niece Samantha Jones; her brother Richard and wife Eansa Burbank and their children Thomas and Melissa of Florida; her sister Margaret and husband Ralph Mowrey of West Kingston; nephew Stephen Jones and his children, Amanda, Ashley and Stephen; and many extended family members. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Visiting hours will be Monday, 5 PM to 7 PM. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of Flowers the family is asking to make donations to The Alzheimer’s Association RI Chapter.
