Barbara S. Brown

Barbara S. Brown, 89, passed away at home on June 28, 2023. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Georgia (Hays) Macrae. Barbara was widowed by her first husband, Glenn C. Brown, she then remarried to the late Fredrick Morrison.

In her earlier life, Barbara attended Forsyth College Boston for Dental Hygiene and then the University of Rhode Island to obtain a masters in psychology. She was a Dental Hygienist before becoming a Teacher for the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Rhode Island. She later went on to run the program at URI. Barbara then retired from the research office at University of Rhode Island

Barbara recently moved to Texas, spending time with a family which she adored. She loved to travel and see the world, spending winters in Florida. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening, shopping and playing board or card games.

Barbara is survived by her children, Scott Brown (Lisa) of West Palm Beach, FL, Jeffrey Brown (Judy) of Plano, Tx. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Jennifer, Jacqueline, and Jeremiah, along with 6 great grandchildren as well as 2 on the way.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Martha (Macrae) Hanson and Margaret Macrae.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 4 PM to 7PM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI. A funeral service will be held on July 14, 2023, at 10 AM in St. Peter’s by the Sea, 72 Central St, Narragansett, RI.
