Barbara A. Allen

Barbara A. (Trudell) Allen, beloved wife and mother, passed away at the age of 85, after a long battle with lung disease. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Petit) Trudell and grew up in East Providence before moving to South County when she met and married her husband of 60 years, the late Donald D. Allen. Together, they raised two lovely daughters. Barbara had a variety of careers outside of the home, including clerical, retail and real estate, but her most fulfilling job was that of a homemaker. She was also a loyal friend and a devoted daughter who cared for her mother during the last several years of her life. As well as the many people she cared about, she had several pets over the years that she cherished. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling, including several road trips with her husband and daughters to various historical sites. Later on in life, she accompanied her mother on a number of cruises which included Alaska, Panama and Aruba. Barbara is survived by her daughters Linda Allen of Peace Dale and Sandra Allen and her spouse Mary Love of Holden, MA and sisters in law Carol Richards and Jane Allen of Wakefield, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 18, 2016, 11:00 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI. Burial with military honors to follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday March 17, 2016 from 4:00 -7:00 pm.
