Avis Stewart

Avis Stewart, 79, of Wakefield, passed away Thursday, April 11th. She was the beloved wife of Ray L. Stewart for 61 years Born in North Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Isabelle (Gardiner) Tisdale. She graduated from Northfield High School in Northfield, Vermont in 1957. Mrs. Stewart was employed at American Power Conversion for many years, until retiring. She also had worked at Old Mountain Lanes in Wakefield. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Michael Stewart and his wife Becky of Charlestown and Douglas Stewart and his wife Leslie of East Concord, VT; three grandchildren, Michaela Lacosse, Jeb Stewart, and Jason Stewart; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Dylan; a brother Donald Tisdale of Vermont; and a sister, Muriel Gardiner of North Smithfield. Visiting hours will be at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Tuesday, April 16th, 10-30 am - 12:30 pm, followed by a committal service at 1:30 pm at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
