Audrey Stein

Audrey J. (Gardner) Stein, 93, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of the late John H. Stein.

Born in Sterling, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Bessie (Brumbley) Gardner.

She was known for her beautiful cross stitching and knitting, which she generously gifted to family and friends. Audrey and her husband were active members of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she regularly participated in Church Life. She was known to all for her kind and compassionate spirit.

Audrey is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Stein and his wife Karen of Cranston and Mark Stein and his wife Kay of Oxford, MD; she was the cherished Nana to Haley Stein of Easton, MD and Emily and Katharine Stein of Cranston and great-grandmother of Asher and Jemma.

She was the grandmother of the late Evan Stein and sister of the late Cecil and Dean Gardner, Eleanor Wenk and Beth Tarvin.

The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 383 Old North Rd, Kingston, RI 02881.
