Arthur J. Tankard

Arthur J. Tankard, 93, formerly of North Kingstown and Cranston, passed away Monday January 23rd in Rhinebeck, NY. He was the beloved husband of the late Roberta J. (Astbury) Tankard. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Harry and Alice (Rothchild) Tankard. Mr. Tankard was employed by the Brown & Sharpe Company in North Kingstown for many years. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He is survived by two children, Robert Tankard of Pleasant Hill, CA and Deborah Tankard of Woodstock, NY; a daughter-in-law Sherry Tankard; two grandchildren, Kyle Tankard and Jennifer Tankard; and sister Eunice (Tankard) Caro. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 11;12 Noon in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, followed by a committal service and military honors at 1 PM in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
