Arthur “Ernie” Hogan, 93, of Narragansett, passed away Saturday June 6th. He was the beloved husband of the late Louise (Deschane) Hogan. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas and Esther (Waterhouse) Hogan. At the age of 17, Mr. Hogan enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he began working for EASTCO, as an appliance repairman, eventually working his way up to the Director of Operations. He was active in the Harbour Island Improvement Association and was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by three children, Linda A. Hogan of Wakefield, Thomas A. Hogan of Narragansett, and Holly Hogan Spencer of Burriville; seven grandchildren, Shaun Hogan, Jessica Russell, Nicole Spencer, Peter Spencer, Samantha Spencer, Andrew Russell, and Jody Russell Hume; and seven great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert Hogan. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday June 12th at 11 am in St. Francis Cemetery, George Schaeffer Street, Peace Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.
