Arthur G. Champlin

Arthur G. Champlin,77, of South Pier Rd., died Tuesday. He was the husband of Shirley (White) Champlin for fifty six years. Born in Slocum, he was the son of the late Harold K. and Bernice M. (Holmes) Champlin. Arthur was a commercial fisherman out of Pt. Judith on the fishing vessels Roann and Zella for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Church of the Ascension. Arthur was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Hope Lodge #25 and a member of the Shriners. He leaves three sons, Mark G. Champlin and his wife Ann of Richmond, Brian S. Champlin and his companion Marybeth of Hope Valley and Blake J. Champlin and his wife Stephanie of Narragansett; Brother in law and like a father to Richard B. White and brother in law of Kirk A. White both of Narragansett; brother of Norman Champlin of Wakefield and Janet Johnson of AL; grandfather of Courtney, Jillian, Adam, Mitchell, David, Kyle and Victoria. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Church of the Ascension, corner of Kenyon Ave and Main St., Wakefield. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Church of the Ascension or Home and Hospice Care of RI.
