Arnold W. Johnson

Arnold W. Johnson, 85, of Charlestown, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017. He was the husband of Joan (Gaddes) Johnson for 63 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Adolph and Alice (Lindberg) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a systems analyst engineer for IBM for many years before retiring; he was a Korean War Army Veteran, and his enjoyment was spending time with his family. Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Linda Johnson Hansen and her husband Mark of Newton, MA, Wendy Johnson of Rumford, Cynthia Johnson of Baltimore, VT, Karen Farrell and her husband Patrick of Andover, MA and Kristen Johnson of Charlestown; four grandchildren, Kaele Cassidy, Lyssa Hansen, Dan and Kate Farrell; two brothers, Charles Johnson of Wallingford, CT and Kenneth Johnson of Oakham, MA and a sister, Eleanor Porter of Springfield, VA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11am in Watch Hill Chapel, 5 Bluff Ave, Westerly, RI 02891.
