Antonio Tacelli

Antonio Tacelli, 101, of Wakefield, died Saturday. He was the husband of the late Aurora (Snow) Tacelli. Born in Italy, he was a son of the late Giovanni and Dominica (Grillo) Tacelli. After immigrating to this country, he became a caretaker for the Steere Estate, where he enjoyed gardening and grew many prize winning Dahlia’s. Later he was employed at the URI Bay Campus in Narragansett, for many years. Besides his love for gardening, he enjoyed Striped Bass fishing. He is survived by a son, John Tacelli of Foster; a daughter, Jo Ann Highers of Wakefield; a sister, Jennie Mathias of Kingston; two granddaughters, Liz Crandall and Linda Carroll; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Louis Tacelli, Ralph Tacelli, Josephine Bishop, Congetta Holt, Ida Marcyan and Ann Luba. Funeral and burial will be private in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
