Anthony "Tony" DeQuattro, 74, of Narragansett, passed away on March 7, 2018. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Louie DeQuattro and Louise (Verdelotti) DeQuattro. He is survived by his son Ryan A. DeQuattro, sister Angela Arundel; nieces Kimberly Arundel and Stephanie (DeQuattro) Ferland; nephews Louis DeQuattro, Jr., Mike DeQuattro and David A. Arundel; sister in law Kathy DeQuattro and two great nieces, and one great nephew. He was predeceased by his brother Lt Col. Louis A. DeQuattro. Throughout his life Anthony devoted himself to the development and success of others. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with individuals, especially young adults, and help them to identify and expand on their skills. By first having the confidence and work ethic to become successful in his own lifes endeavors, he shared his values and drive with others. Anthony grew up on Ring Street in Providence. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, class of 1961. Tony received two degrees from Bryant University. His undergraduate degree in teacher education in 1967 and a Master of Business Administration degree in 1974. While a student at Bryant, Tony served as a Class Officer -- he was elected vice president of his junior class, and president of his senior class; he was on the Varsity Baseball and Basketball teams; and served as a vice president and member of his fraternity, Alpha Theta Chi. As an accomplished athlete, natural born leader, and with an innate desire to help others develop their skills and talents he went on to serve the Bristol School District for 30 years. There he served as a teacher, chairman of his department, and was a coach for the basketball and golf teams. He was a former member of the Bryant University National Alumni Council. Tony was inducted into the Bryant University Athletic Hall of Fame twice. He was individually recognized in 2004 for baseball and basketball, and then again in 2007, as a member of the 1966-67 Mens Basketball Team. In 1996 Tony retired, but he did not stop with his lifes work. In 1999 he became a PGA Professional and went on to teach Golf to people of all ages, as well as continuing to connect and educate the younger generations. Throughout the years Tony never stopped contributing and giving of himself. Anthony touched so many lives during his time here with us with a never-ending desire to mentor and help people better themselves, his generosity and drive never wavered.
