Anthony J. DePalma, 76, of Charlestown and formerly of Somers, NY, died Friday. He was the beloved husband of Erminia “Minnie” (Maneggia) DePalma for 51 years. Born in New York, NY, he was a son of the late Dominick and Katherine (Micale) DePalma. Mr. DePalma was employed by IBM, retiring in 1992 and moved to Rhode Island. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Mystic Rose Council and he served in the US Navy, during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, clamming, painting, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife he is survived by four children; and their spouses; John A. and Patricia DePalma of Venice, FL, Stephen and Diane DePalma of Danbury, CT, Joseph and Karen DePalma of Prospect, CT, Andrea and Roger Florkowski of Hopewell Junction, NY; seven grandchildren; and two sisters and their spouses; Rose and Joe Adamo of Brewster, NY and Lillian and Sonny DiCarlo of Bronxville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 AM in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, Charlestown. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Monday 3-7 PM.
