Anne E.N. Hoxsie, 83, of Narragansett, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Samuel B. Hoxsie. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Warren Dawley and Gertrude (Soule) Nichols. Mrs. Hoxsie was very active serving on the Narragansett Town Council, the Narragansett School Committee, Meals on Wheels, YMCA after school, a Sunday School Teacher, a Girl Scout Leader, and she was a charter member of The Club. She is survived by three children, Nancy Mead of New York, NY, Christine Morris of Bradford, NH, Thomas Hoxsie of Narragansett; a daughter-in-law, Terrie Quinn of Narragansett; a sister, Judith Haar of Barrington, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Paul Hoxsie A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 72 Central Street, Narragansett. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
