Anne Cawley Alton, 54, of 80 Stoney Farm Way, Wakefield, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, unexpectedly at home. She was the loving wife of Bradley M. Alton. Born in Newport, RI, on August 30, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Dorothy M. Cawley. She leaves three cherished children; Nathan of Charleston, SC, and Lauren and Ben, both of Wakefield. She will be deeply missed by her beloved dogs Bailey and Molly. She attended St. Catherine Academy in Newport where she was on the basketball team, and graduated from Rogers High School. Anne was employed by the Eppley Laboratory of Newport, operated her own medical transcription service for 25 years and for the last four years she had been the healthcare coordinator for Body Mechanix Physical Therapy of Wakefield (formerly RI Rehabilitation South). She greatly loved and cared for her colleagues and clinic patients. She enjoyed gardening, her pets, the Patriots and Red Sox, biking and sharing good times with family and friends on the stone walled family farm on which they lived. She is survived by her sisters Margaret A. Boyle and her husband Ronald of Vienna, VA, Dorothy M. Cawley of Mankato, MN, Sr. Constance E. Cawley, SSJ of Chicopee, MA, Catherine T. Andrews and her husband Jerry of Miami, FL, Mary E. Norbury and her husband Robert of Middletown, RI; and by her brothers Raymond J. “Joe” Cawley Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Newport, Patrick J. Cawley and his wife Meryle of Newport, and John A. Cawley and his wife Shannon of Portsmouth, RI; sister-in-law of Amy Alton Eidson and her husband John of Wakefield, Julianne Alton of Wakefield, Mary E. Cawley of Middletown, Elaine Clark of Greenfield, MA and Richard Souza of Newport; and daughter-in-law of Aaron J. and Anne M. Alton of Wakefield. She was the sister of the late Patricia A. Souza, Rosemary Marvel, Thomas F. Cawley, and Ralph M. Cawley, Sr. Visiting hours will be held at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday, October 2nd from 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 AM Saturday , October 3rd in St. Josephs Church, corners of Mann & Broadway, Newport.
