Angelo Cappa

November 18, 1947 — April 21, 2024

Angelo A. Cappa Jr, 76, of Newington, CT and Charlestown, RI passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024. He was the son of the late Angelo and Lucille (LaPenna) Cappa and the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Jasinski) Cappa for 55 years.


After graduating from Glastonbury High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and Germany before his honorable discharge in July 1969.


Angelo worked in the HVAC industry for over 40 years during which he founded and was president of CW Systems Incorporated. He spent his final working years as a salesman at Commercial Heating Supply. Angelo retired to Rhode Island where he enjoyed cooking, gardening, and time at the beach. You could often find him with a mopine over his shoulder standing in front of a pot of sauce. An active basketball and soccer player during his youth, his love of sports continued with his children and his grandson.


Besides his wife, Angelo leaves behind his daughters Aimie Cappa and Tara Roby and son Marc Cappa. He also leaves his only grandchild Kellen Roby. Angelo is survived by his brother Michael Cappa and four sisters, Theresa Kowalksi, Patricia Aldrich, Rosemary Lombardo and Eleanor Smith.


Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 10am-11am on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the St. James Chapel located at 2079 Matunuck School House Road, in Charlestown, RI. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am immediately following. Burial with military honors will be held at 12:30pm at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.


Donations in his memory may be sent to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hyland Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10306.
