Angelina Vieira, 93, of Wakefield, died at South County Hospital, Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was the wife of the late John Vieira. They were married for 63 years. Born in Springfield, MA, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Rosina Gentile. A graduate of Bay Path Institute, she was a medical secretary at Westover Field in Chicopee, MA, before moving to RI in 1946. Years later, she became the Principal’s secretary at Monsignor Matthew Clarke School for 19 years, retiring in 1987. She also was an Avon Representative in the Wakefield area for over 25 years. She is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Vieira of Wakefield, her son and Peter Vieira and his wife Pamela and a grandson, John Vieira, who reside in Virginia; a brother, Dr. Blaise Gentile of Madison, WI; a niece and two nephews of the late URI Professor Jerry Gentile of Kingston; as well as many other nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday, December 13th at 9 AM from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are Wednesday, December 12, from 4-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, or to one’s charity of choice.
