Andrew Briggs

Andrew A. Briggs, 67, of West Kingston, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 surrounded by his family at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Jeanne M. (Snow) Briggs. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Stearns “Gene” and Janice (Nyman) Briggs.

Andrew was a proud 1976 graduate of South Kingstown High School. Shortly after graduation, he honorably served in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he held positions at Electric Boat in Quonset and later worked as a chef at the University of Rhode Island. He also spent many years as a dedicated contractor.

He was a proud member of the American Legion Downey Weaver Post 34. Andrew found joy in life’s simple pleasures, gathering with loved ones around a bonfire and spending time on the golf course.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Andrew Albert Briggs II and his wife Jennifer, a granddaughter, Reagan Elizabeth Briggs, his siblings, Timothy A. Briggs and his wife Meg, and Cynthia M. Pinkerton and her husband James, and many nieces and nephews. Andrew was the father of the late Robby Ray Briggs and brother of the late Stearns E. Briggs, IV.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Andrew on August 3, 2025, from 1-4pm at the American Legion Downey Weaver Post 34, 22 Whipple Drive Charlestown, RI, United States, Rhode Island.
