Allan P. Pickles Lepage

Allan P “ Pickles” LePage, 67, of Liberty Lane, West Kingston, died Tuesday after a tragic accident. He was the husband of Dianne ( Segar) LePage. Born in Pensacola, FL, he was the son of the late Leo P. and Addie ( Rushton) LePage. Mr. LePage was retired. For the last 25 years he worked at the Kingston Water Distirct. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War Era. Allan grew up in East Greenwich, was active in 4-H and after marrying lived in Kingston and West Kingston. He had owned Vern’s 66 in West Kingston and was a long haul truck driver for many years. Pic was Assistant Chief of the Kingston Fire Department where he had served for over 40 years. He was also a life member of the West Kingston Fire Department and a former member of Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire Department. He had received various citations and awards for his service including the being the first recipient of the “ Henry Fortin Award” for distinguished service at Kingston Fire Department (1991) and “ Firefighter of the Year” awarded by the Richmond Grange(2009). He was a member of Safari Club International, South County Rod and Gun Club, and The National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, spending weeks at a time at his favorite place in Amherst, Maine, bird hunting. He had hunted in Montana, Pennsylvania, New Foundland, Alaska, and the Northwest Territories. His Alaska-Yukon moose trophy scored 222-3/8 and is listed in the Boone and Crocket Club record book. He also was fortunate to bag two impressive caribou trophies and a beautiful 900 pound grizzly bear. Many grouse and woodcock were enjoyed at the dinner table after his side-by-side shotgun retorted. He hunted over many well trained springer spaniels who were the joy of his life. Besides his wife he leaves a son Allan P. LePage Jr. of West Kingston and Hope Valley. He is also survived by his many firefighter brothers , far and wide , many of whom he mentored. The funeral will be held Saturday July 4, at 10:00 AM in the Ryan Center, Kingston. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-7 PM in the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
