Aline H. Hoelzel

Aline H. Hoelzel, 90, passed away peacefully on July 23rd at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She had been married to the late Dr. Norman R. Hoelzel for 56 years and she is survived by her four children, Lex Aiken, Chris Hoelzel, Cindy Ladd and Rus Hoelzel, her sister, Georgette Daughtery, and seven grandchildren. Aline earned a Bachelor’s degree in music education and a Master’s degree in reading therapy at Boston University, worked as a social worker in the 1940s and taught music in schools. She loved singing, all types of music, swimming, and the sea. She was very active with community work, including the running of a charity shop for the Visiting Nurse Association in Hingham, MA, and volunteer work at the public library. She was a loving mother, wife and friend and will be greatly missed. Private funeral services were held.
