Alice M. Gavitt

Alice M. Gavitt, 91, of Glen, NH, formerly of Wakefield, RI, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She was the wife of the late Warren A. Gavitt. Born in Warwick RI, she was the daughter of the late Dolphus and Louisa (Sherman) LaCrosse. Alice was a member of Glen Community Baptist Church and formerly First Baptist Church of Narragansett. She worked as a short order cook at the former Whistle Stop and did domestic work. She was a volunteer at South County Hospital. She was the mother of Dorothy Hilliard of Windsor, VT, Brenda Taylor of Roanoke, VA, Joy Rose of Glen, NH, David Gavitt of Montgomery, Al and the late Ronald Gavitt and grandmother of the late Gail Gavitt of Godley, TX. She also leaves 14 grandchildren;19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Narragansett, 305 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
