Alice Belknap Gardner, 81, of Exeter, died Monday. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Gardner, Sr. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Alice (Belknap) Arnold. Mrs. Gardner was employed at South County Hospital and served as a bus monitor for the South Kingstown School System. She enjoyed farming and tending to her cows and chickens. She is survived by five children, Donald Gardner, Jr. of Exeter, Mona Briggs of Hershey, Maine, Erle Gardner of Exeter, Susan Greene of Charlestown, and Inez Neary of North Kingstown, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; and a sister Evelyn Rossner of Charlestown. She was the sister of the late Edna Bannister, Doris Park, Norman, Herbert, Harold, Irvin, Egbert and Kenneth Arnold. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
