Alfred L. Fay, 85, of 76 Atlantic St., Snug Harbor, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020. He was the husband of Barbara (Smith) Fay. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Doonan) Fay. Mr. Fay was a repairman and foreman at New England Telephone for many years before retiring. He was active with the Pioneers Club associated with NE Telephone well after his retirement. Alfred and Barbara were both active members of their church both in RI and Florida, where they stayed during the winter months. Mr. Fay loved to go clamming with his children and grandchildren. He served as a volunteer with Snug Harbor Fire Department. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was the father of Kimberly Tremblay, Karen Nichols and the late Brian Fay; brother of the late William Fay, Madelyn Fay, Hope Metzger and Dorothy Fay. He also leaves three grandchildren, Andrea Raponi, Sabrina Miles and Jennifer Tremblay and 4 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Ave, Matunuck. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center c/o Activities Fund, 2115 South County Trail, West Kingston, RI 02892.
