Alexander F. Vaicunas

Alex F. Vaicunas, 87, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 18th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Julia (Lakacauskis) Vaicunas for 65 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Michael and Veronica (Budris) Vaicunas. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. Besides his wife he is survived by two children and their spouses; Jane and Matthew Karpacz of Wayland, MA and Ray and Carolanne Vaicunas of Randolph, NJ; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John Vaicunas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and burial will take place at a later date in New Jersey.
