Albert R. Paul, 79, of Kingstown Rd., Narragansett, died Friday at South Kingstown Nursing Home. Mr. Paul was a musician, sales representative, army and civil defense officer and entrepreneur. He was the owner and operator of Narragansett Specialty Woodcrafts on Ocean Road, Narragansett, for many years. He was the husband of Evelyn C. (Pascale) Paul, they were married for 57 years. Born in Providence on November 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Alberico and Angelina (Sacco) Paul. He was a resident of Narragansett since 1987, previously living in Louisiana, Connecticut and Florida. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, Providence class of 1948, Officers’ Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia class of 1952, and Advanced Officers’ Training school, 5th Armored Division, Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, October 1952. He served at Camp Polk, LA during the Korean War. As Reserve Captain with the 76th Infantry Division, he served as HQs Battery Commander. He was a Civil Defense Officer for the towns of Unionville, Collinsville and Burlington, CT, during the Cuban Missile Crisis from 1960 to 1964. He worked for the Narragansett Brewery in Cranston as a Sales and Promotional Representative for 9 years and at Brescome Liquor Distributors in South Windsor, CT as a Sales Rep. for 17 years. He was an avid golfer and sailor and a big fan of the New England Patriots and Red Sox. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Yvonne M. Paul and Cynthia P. Spinelli and her husband Tom; four grandchildren, Richard and his wife Taylor O’Keefe, Daniel and Jessica Spinelli and Sam Cooke and one great granddaughter, Molly O’Keefe all of CT; and several nephews and nieces. He was brother of the late George R. Paul. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett.
