Albert Butch Ferris

Albert "Butch" Ferris, 56, of Wakefield, died Tuesday. Born in South Kingstown he was a son of Milton Ferris of Wakefield and Dorothy (Harlin) Garvin of Wakefield. Mr. Ferris was employed at URI for many years, retiring earlier this year. He holds four fishing world records as well as many state of RI fishing records. He enjoyed photography and the outdoors. He is survived by four children, Holly Ferris of Wakefield, Ryan Ferris and Christopher Ferris, both of Riverside, Kyle Ferris of Wakefield; their mother, Frances Ferris of North Smithfield; a sister Elaine Varrecchione of St. Petersburg, FL, a niece, Karen Allen and a nephew Peter Wronowski. Visiting hours will be at the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday, 4-8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. Burial will be private.
