Albert "Bud" J. Hazard

January 23, 1948 — April 5, 2020

Albert “Bud” Hazard passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2020 from a long battle of cancer at Hope Health Hospice Care facility in Providence RI. Bud was a graduate of South Kingston High School and The University of Rhode Island where he was a champion basketball player and later played overseas in Europe. Bud lived in St. Croix USVI for over 30 years where he taught high school art and coached basketball, he retired from teaching and continued to coach basketball and tennis on the island of St. Croix. Mr. Hazard was well known and always respected for being such a true humanitarian to all who knew him, some would say he was their Mayor. Everywhere he would go one would call out Yo-Mr. Hazard and run to him respectfully, true advocate in helping others. Our love and prayers for his travel home The family of Bud ❤️ He is survived by his wife, Gwen Hazard of Seattle, WA; his son Blaison Hazard of Seattle, WA; his daughter in law, Hikari Hazard of Seattle, WA; his grandchildren, Luna Hazard and Kyra Hazard of Seattle, WA; his siblings, Valerie Jones of San Diego, CA, Cynthia Blunt of Wakefield, RI, Lawrence R. Hazard of Ledyard, CT, Evelyn M. Hazard-Burke of New London, CT, and Elnora White-King of Southhampton, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Daisy Stanton-Hazard/White and Albert Hazard, Sr.; and his siblings, Elvira Lowry, Derek E. Hazard, and Ida E. Rounseville. A private memorial will be announced at a later date.
