Alan Stuart Cameron

Cameron, Alan Stuart, 78, of Narragansett, passed on at his home surrounded by his loving family on October 14, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband and best friend of Elizabeth Brothers Cameron for 57 years. He was the son of the late Alice Sjoberg and John E. Cameron, and the brother of the late John F. Cameron. He graduated from South Kingstown High School, Providence College, and Lee Institute for Real Estate. After a fifteen - year career with Columbus National Bank as vice president, Alan established A.S. Cameron Realty, Ltd. in East Greenwich in 1978, then merged with J.S.W. Lillibridge in 1980, forming Cameron & Lillibridge Realtors at 110 King Street in East Greenwich (the old jail). He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and served as a Cubmaster of pack 3 in East Greenwich. He coached all of his children in youth sports. He was a Charter Member and past president of North Kingstown Rotary Club, East Greenwich Fire Commissioner for 6 years, served on East Greenwich Development Commission, Past President and Director of Kent Washington Board of Realtors and former Director of RI Association of Realtors. He is survived by his wife Betty, his 6 children, John F. Cameron (Dawne), Jeffrey A. Cameron, Kathleen O'Neil (Kevin) , Margaret O'Rourke ( Michael ) , Susan Cameron Kiernan , and Christine Palmieri ( Scott ) , and 16 beloved grandchildren , Jordan and Colin Cameron , Cole , Layla and Amelia Cameron , Jack and Caroline O'Neil , Rian , Abigail , and Isabel O'Rourke , Patrick , Maeve and Quinn Kiernan , and Meg , Grace and Luke Palmieri . Calling hours will be held at Avery - Storti Funeral Home in Wakefield from 4-7 PM. Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, Narragansett at 10AM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan's name to The Tomorrow Fund, 593 Eddy St. Providence, or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
