Agnes (Magarian) Connery, 96, of Narragansett, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born to the late John and Katherine (Chakoian) Magarian, Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Connery and a longtime resident of Narragansett.
Agnes found great joy in cooking and took special pleasure in sharing meals with family and friends. Nothing made her happier than watching loved ones enjoy the dishes she prepared with care and affection. In her leisure time, she enjoyed puzzles and games, was an avid card player, and rarely missed an opportunity to settle in with a good book. Agnes was a longtime member of the Ladies Guild at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence and, in her younger years, was an active participant in the Armenian Youth Federation.
Agnes is survived by her daughters, Karen Tucker and her husband, Robert, of Charlestown, Rhode Island; Patricia Correia and her husband, John, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; and Kristine Connery and her longtime partner, Brian Mello, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is also survived by her brothers, Matthew Magarian and his wife, Marion, of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and Richard Magarian and his wife, Judy, of North Kingstown, Rhode Island; her five cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Andrea, Chad, Ross, and Brian; and her three beloved great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Chase, and Emery. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Zorabedian.
Arrangements are in the care of Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822.
